Welcome to Creation of a Community! This website is all about the history of Longridge and Shaw Heath, Cheshire, through the eyes of the people who live there. The website, and the collection of material it showcases, was created from a Heritage Lottery funded project called Creation Of A Community in 2015-16.

 

USING THE SITE

You can browse through all the photos, interviews, and other items belonging to local people on the “Browse our Archive“ page. Or you can use the “Search” box on the right – try putting in your name, to see if there’s a photo of you anywhere on here! Or use the tag cloud underneath the search box – click on a word or phrase to see all the posts about that subject.

 

GETTING IN TOUCH

We hope this site will be available for a long time into the future; but because we’re not maintaining it, unfortunately you can’t post comments or new material to it. But if you do need to contact us – for instance, if you have found a photo of yourself that you would rather we took down – you can get in touch here.

 

THE HERITAGE CENTRE
